theatre design — St Petersburg / Berlin, 2017

Design for the Russisches Haus and the Alexandrinsky Theatre. Directed by Mikhail Patlasov & Anna Yunysheva. Saint Petersburg / Berlin, 2017.

An international socio-cultural project involving teenagers from Russia and Germany, united by their migration experiences and the associated challenges of social adaptation — linguistic, cultural, and religious. The play addresses xenophobia, racism, and the stereotypes surrounding migrants.

Each participant shares their own unique story, collectively forming an anthology of modern xenophobia through the eyes of its unbiased witnesses. Over more than six months, the participants, together with the directors and a group of curators, created the documentary text that serves as the foundation of the play.
