single-channel video installation · 9 min 22 sec · 4K · CGI · 2026
Presented at NOVA_XX Biennale 2026, Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, Paris. December 2026. Directed by Gohar Martirosyan.
Set around the Amulsar gold mine in Armenia, The Mountain’s Mouth is a film installation exploring the relationships between resource extraction, landscape transformation, and the violence inscribed upon the body.
Working from the screenplay developed by director Gohar Martirosyan, Alinna Tikhonova conceived the film’s visual language and developed its entire visual world. Her work encompassed geospatial research, satellite data analysis, on-site 3D scanning, spatial reconstruction, 3D modelling, visual effects, and the overall visual development of the project.
